Details California Customwear CEO and Chief Designer Mary Bassel has been in the custom embroidery business since 1978. Bassel was the Artistic Director and Chief Designer for L.P. Designs - America's top embroidered wearables company from 1978 - 1994.
Bassel worked directly with such clients as The Walt Disney Company, Bill Graham Presents, Ninetendo, and Artist Manager Ken Kragen.
She created custom Tour Jackets and accessories for such artists as Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner, Paul McCartney, Journey, Tom Petty, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, The J. Geils Band, Kenny Rogers, The Go-Go's and Dire Straits, among many others.

Some of Bassel's jackets are part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. An industry veteran, Bassel has also held the position of Production Manager for numerous garment lines including Great China Wall and BlueBell, a division of Wrangler.
